Statement:
"I believe that every painting an artist creates is a statement. Each should grow and evolve, as a translation of the truth the artist is seeing and feeling in the environment around her. A successful painting is one that connects the viewer to the truth that the artist feels. My personal style has grown from my love for the works of the Impressionists. I try to use my technique to build contemporary impressions of realism from the decisive placement of precise blocks of primal colour values onto the canvas. In this way I try to strike a balance between abstraction and realism, harmony and contrast, and interpret the texture and feel of the beautiful west coast in which I live and love to explore. The images that inspire me most invoke the richness of quiet, relaxed memories of places and times while providing the viewer with an oasis of calm in our often too-hectic world.

History:
Angela graduated from the Alberta College of Art in 1980, worked as a professional illustrator and designer, and now is a full-time painter in Vancouver.
