About Artist:
Anastasia Kimmett is a Vancouver based artist with a multi-faceted background in the arts and design. Her works reflect an eclectic group of influences from the precise and methodical techniques of story-tellers such as Gustav Klimt to the emotional spontaneity of Abstract Expressionists like Jackson Pollock.
Kimmett breaks through the traditional format of painting to develop a technique which blends both intellect and emotion. Applying inks, wax and pastels to paper she paints inspired abstract pieces. She then slices the paintings into small sections and arranges the unstructured pieces to create works of art that are organized and rhythmic. Her works are rich in color and inspire the imagination to see
unlimited stories, images and landscapes. What is seen when standing back from a finished piece will vary from person to person. But when one looks closer at the big picture it will reveal itself for what it really
is, a collection of beautiful tiny building blocks of pure emotion.
