About Artist:
Slava studied fine art at Kharkov State University graduating with a Masters Degree of Art in 1975. Travel throughout Europe allowed him to study works of the masters and to teach art. Slava's arrival in Canada in the mid 1990's coincided with his study and love for working in encaustic.

Statement:
Happiness is the response I want to invoke in viewers of my art. There is so much stress in this world of the computer age; victims and conflict are everywhere, I want to make people happy.
History:
Slava was awarded many medals during the 1980's throughout the Soviet Union for paintings, graphics, and sculptures . He received the award "Best of Encaustics" in 1999 at BCE Place in Toronto.
