Aspens and Mountain Stream - Horseman 617 Camera, Velvia 50 Film

This is another scene that I have been shooting for five years. Every year, the scene is different. Some years, the colours are intense with yellows and oranges, and others they are muted. On this day, after the rain cleared, the light was overcast with warm highlighting on the leaves and trunks. For me, the placement of the river and the dead aspens is integral to the composition. This image was shot using hyper-focal focus.

Bonhams Russian Art Valuations

by Chris Harrison 29. November 2011 16:45

In recognition of the huge demand for Russian paintings and works of art, our Russian art specialist, Sophie Hamilton, will be visiting Canada to advise on the current auction value of paintings, Fabergé, Works of Art and Icons that you may be thinking of selling.

Bonhams holds two extremely successful Russian sales a year at our galleries in London. Good quality Russian paintings are always in demand and the market for Fabergé and works of art is particularly buoyant. We gather consignments from all over the world to achieve high prices at auction in London. Recent sales have seen very high prices for artists such as Ivan Aivazovsky, Ivan Shishkin, Philip Maliavin, Konstantin Makovsky, Nikolai Roerich, Vladimir Wesiberg and many others. Fabergé clocks and Russian enamel work are also highly sought after.
